Directors Message

Thank you for making our all three seasons a success. Many of our events packed the auditorium to capacity and we got great feedback.

Now, another winter looms – as does our usual annual winter hibernation, when events at The Nehru Centre (TNC) are put on hold for around two months in diff erence to weather conditions in London. By that you are going to enjoy the chill of London, we move to fi nal leg of our current cultural season, a review of all exciting thing that happened at The Nehru Centre in the last three quarters become essential. We hosted some sparkling launches of books like ‘Master on Masters’ by Amjad Ali Khan Saheb, Markenday’s books, Lassis of India: Smoothies with a Twist. Thought provoking and visionary talks were delivered by some remarkable speakers, international seminars on yoga – including International Yoga Day and celebration of India’s independence.

The academic mood was balanced by the glitz of the performing arts. TNC presented Kuchipudi and devotional music evenings by prominent artists from India, United Kingdom and Europe including middle-east. There were also some special events organised by the Centre celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi to be continued for the next year as well.

We also showcased some beautiful and unique exhibitions like ‘Relive the ideals of the Mahatma through art, ‘Safed’ and many more.

In November and December we would be concluding the last season with the cultural/ academic component which is full of energy. Hope you may like it.

Wish you and your family a Happy Christmas, Gurunanak Jayanti, and New Year.
